Birkirkara St Joseph’s new signing Jesrit Camilleri, in his debut multisport season, managed to keep the National Duathlon Championship at the Club, following an impressive performance on the Mtarfa route. The Saint, with a good athletic background, swapped track and road running, to multisport barely six months ago, and after nursing a nagging leg injury, embarked on a tough training regime, which saw him take the highest spot of the podium at the first attempt, crowning himself the national duathlon champion 2018.

On contacted by Camilleri explained that for him, BSJ was the obvious choice and he was readily accepted in the Saints’ fold following a brief meeting with the Club’s Secretary General.  He said that he was really proud to retain the championship at this Club, steeped in multisport history, and to follow in the footsteps of an elite crop of triathletes who donned the famous black and yellow over the years.  Camilleri thanked his sponsors and his mentors, promising to do his utmost to further improve his performances during this new triathlon season.
